Mopeene, aka MopDog or Moppy, was born in the Summer of 2003 and came to live with us on November 27, 2005. Previously, he had belonged to the man who rented the garage behind the rental house we lived in at the time. The man did not take care of him and, when the other two dogs he kept (which were Moppy's mother and father) died from what appeared to be starvation, we took the MopDog in. His full name, Mopeene, is a word my grandmother used to describe especially worn out dust rags. When we adopted him, Mop definitely looked like a Mopeene dog...his long hair was matted to the skin with feces, dirt and leaves, he was stick thin and the hair over his eyes was so long, I couldnt imagine how he could see anything. The picture above was taken after two weeks of living with us, he has put on weight and had all that nasty matted hair removed. Quite a cutie, isnt he?! You can see a before and after picture HERE. He is a lhasa apso/schnauzer/pitbull mix...We call him our "Schapso Bull". :-) He's a good boy and has amazing house manners, considering he lived outside until we got him. Hercules has taught him what toys are for and the two of them have great fun wrestling and playing tug-of-war all around the house. We are very happy we were able to adopt him and give him a better life.

Sergeant, aka Sarge, was born in November of 1999 and came to us on April 10, 2010. We found Sarge at PetFinder.com, under a courtesy listing from the Yadkin County Humane Society. We were looking for a rottie mix to add to our home and we just fell in love with his adorable little face. We contacted his foster parents (a truely awesome couple named Michele and Joe Laskus) and , fortunately for us, the people who were coming to see him before us decided against adopting a puppy. Sarge is fitting in with the family nicely. He enjoys playing with Pete the cat and is getting Lisa some much needed exercise with his ball fetching obsession. He is working on his housebreaking and obedience skills and doing well with both. He is the most laid back puppy we have ever known and loves to cuddle and nap with the other dogs, the cats or us (whomever is closest when he decides to shut his eyes LOL). We have no idea what he is mixed with, but have decided there is definitely some hound in his ancestry as he bays when he is excited.
