Our oldest dog, Duke, who passed away in 2004, developed several health problems in his twilight years. He was diagnosed with diabetes in early 2003. Glaucoma soon followed and, in what seemed like no time at all, he was completely blind. It broke our hearts to see him stumble down the steps into the backyard so, to make his life easier, we decided to build him a ramp so he wouldn't have to try and navigate the steps that he couldn't see anymore. I am delighted to say that this simple solution made his last year of life as happy as it could possibly be.
